Southernsbroadstock is enormously proud to announce that 10 of our colleagues have completed their mental health first aid training.
For too long, mental health has taken a back seat to physical health. It’s a topic that impacts not just our workplaces but our day-to-day lives as a whole. The world around us can add to this pressure, whether it’s the cost of living crisis, or a sense of disconnection created by remote working. With this in mind, we wanted to discover more ways we could support our team.
This year’s engagement survey feedback highlighted that we could do more to provide services for our staff. We hope that by empowering 10 members of our team to become qualified mental health first aiders, across different sites and roles, we can start the conversation around mental health. It provides our teams with a trained point of contact that they can speak to about their wellbeing whenever the need arises.
This training represents a huge investment in our team’s wellbeing. By providing our employees with this additional skillset, we’re helping to create an environment where everyone feels valued. But this is just the start. We will be reviewing all of the services we offer and promote in the coming months to make sure they’re the right solutions for our staff.
This is a milestone for our business and represents our commitment to inclusivity. Our mental health first aiders will be pivotal in helping shape and promote the support we offer going forward. We want to reduce the stigma around mental health by promoting open conversations. Through early intervention, we can ensure people get the right care to allow their most confident self to shine through – both inside and outside the office.
