Designed by the experts.

Leading UK construction group Galliford Try and Southernsbroadstock have successfully collaborated on a new £36m development for Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham, Northumberland. The scope of the project was to take a pre-existing design, working with the client and the school, to agree the finishes. Of course, then supplying the furniture to the defined specifications.

This project followed a successful tender process for Southernsbroadstock, and represented a continuation of an already strong relationship with Galliford Try.

A comprehensive service solution.

Utilising our manufacturing hub at Macclesfield to produce both loose and fitted furniture throughout the entire project. Adapting it to suit the designs supplied by internal design specialists. Ensuring the layouts of each room had maximum efficiency, whilst still being user friendly.

Although there were many variables throughout the project; to balance between the client requests, and the work that had already been done by other trades. We, Southernsbroadstock embedded some further creativity, rising to the challenge of any adaptations and alterations, always finding a suitable solution. Even with a few elements made particularly difficult while some work took place during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Redefining environments for education.

This development success was ensured by strong project management influence. With over 30 suppliers involved in the requirements for this project, on top of our in-house manufactured products.

A pleasure to be a part of.

Hoping the students will learn, achieve and develop their knowledge, utilising their new environment to flourish. With many thanks to the client and the contractor.
