Southernsbroadstock have had a single source with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) since 2015. Their brief was to furnish one of their office locations to ensure their staff had everything needed for a productive environment.

Overcoming obstacles

The entire process took approximately 6 months during the summer and autumn of 2020. Taking place at the height of the global pandemic, we rapidly adapted to find new ways of working. Remote video conferences and calls were implemented to allow us to keep in regular contact with the client. Though social restrictions created a challenging climate, the resourceful attitude of our team ensured the delivery of a practical and enriching workplace design.

Creating a modern workspace

We used our Magnus desking range for the main office space to create clean, minimalist visuals. These were complemented by the Breeze task chair range for comfortable ergonomic seating with plenty of support. For additional usability, the desks were given ABL desk power and cable trays and Era Series 1 desk screens. As a final touch we also provided the UKAEA offices with Silverline Steel side filers and tambours for storage, in addition to Lion steel products for lockers and changing rooms.

A space to relax

It was important for the client to include areas for relaxation, collaboration and idea generation. We met this need by providing breakout areas with our versatile Bowcliffe tables and Eleanora chairs and stools. Meeting rooms were designed with a similar relaxed feel using our multi-use Patina chair range. To give the reception space a contemporary feel, we styled it with our characterful Serene sofas.
