We are a proud partner of Ocee & Four Design, and we share their sustainably conscious and inclusive mindset. Working collaboratively, the relationship supports our initiatives to recognise the imperative need for progressive improvements to protect people and planet.
In the UK, 37.2 million tonnes of commercial waste end up in landfill every year. That cannot continue. Ocee & Four Design’s Take Back Scheme is integrated within our approach to collect unwanted furniture and managed its future potential. The goal is to reuse whenever possible and includes opportunities for much-needed second life through charity and community group donations. End of life products are still valued through separating the component parts for reuse or recycling.
Ocee & Four Design recognises that design plays a significant contribution to environmental impact including considerations relating to product structural design and material choice. Committed to transparency in the materials and processes used, the Company is conducting life cycle assessments for each of its product ranges. These assessments will detail material composition and environmental impact from material sourcing to end-of-life. Through measuring and managing the process, Ocee & Four Design can commit to ongoing improvements.
As part of this approach, Ocee & Four Design is investing in EU Ecolabel certification. Recognised worldwide, it is the equivalent to the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and provides independent confirmation of the product’s credential for having no harmful materials or chemicals ensuring it isn’t harmful to human health or the environment.
We recognise that sustainability is focussed on balancing three key factors: the environment, society, and the economy. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and recognising our responsibilities to social value to create a sustainable business model. Our relationship with Ocee & Four Design demonstrates our ambition to build partnerships with like-minded companies that mirror our principles.
